I had truly forgotten how great the picture on this television was. I went for a long time before replacing the bulb basically because I did not want to change it. I finally made the move when I just could not get the picture any brighter. I purchased the OSRAM bulb and it has made ALL the difference in the world. Great Great picture again.
Thanks a bunch for having this bulb. Saved us from buying a new big screen tv.

I ordered the more expensive bulb, received the bulb pretty quickly, it was packed well.
As per other reviews I read, I installed the bulb which was very easy.,Turned the TV on , the color was horrible, I left it on for awhile then turned it off , unplugged everything, repluged everything back, turned on the TV and it was perfect. I'd recommend this to anyone, it was an easy, inexpensive fix & my television works great once again.

Well, three days before the Big game, my WD-82738 picture got dim. I tried to adjust brightness and it really didn't get better. I thought to myself, 'I bet I need a new bulb'. Then, "Pop!". I lost the picture and a red LED light came on where normally, you see a green LED. I wanted to fix it for the Big game on Sunday, so I called around and found an OEM bulb - it was $130 for just the bulb. They didn't have the housing. Well, I got it and thought I would replace just the bulb - and I did. The problem is, these bulbs get so hot, that the plastic around the bulb looked burned and had a lot of black soot on it. I was able to replace just the bulb, but two clips broke because the plastic was so brittle. I ordered this one with the OSRAM bulb AND housing for less than I got the bulb at a retail store. If your bulb burned out, I would highly recommend the OSRAM bulb with a new housing from DLP Lamp Source. For $99, the price is more than reasonable. The TV is designed to work with this bulb and the housing will undoubtedly have gotten hot and will be brittle. It will save you a lot of time cleaning the old housing. The picture after the replacement is just like it was when the TV was new. I guess the hot plastic may have gotten some of the soot on the old bulb (and continued to do so over time) until it finally blew. Replacement was very easy, but it will be much easier with a new bulb WITH the housing. I ordered this because although I replaced the bulb in the old housing, I knew the old housing was in poor condition. I had done all the research and knew the best place get what I needed, so I ordered this for the next time. I hope this helps!

followed instructions and although i lost the upper screw in the lamp, (fell inside the television and not retrievable) I borrowed from the old lamp and installed in successfully. The picture now is perfect as before.

I INSTALL THE LAMP, PICTURE BRIGHEST STARTED, BUT AFTER A FEW MINUTES THE PICTURE STARTED TO FLICKER AND THEN TV WENT OFF.
ATTEMPTED TO POWER UP, BUT THE STATUS LIGHT WOULD GO YELLOW.
PRSSED THE POWER BUTTON FOR 10 SECONDS, BUT SAME STATUS LIGHT GOES YELLOW.
I WONDER IF YOU HAVE ANY SUGGESTIONS AS TO WHAT ELSE IS BAD?
THANK YOU SO MUCH.

I struggled a bit to get the bulb to fit just right but finally I did.
The picture is as bright as brand new TV. I would not call a TV man and add an additional $50 to the expense. If I can do it- YOU CAN !

After figuring out what part I needed, I found this part and site through an online forum. Part was delivered in a timely manner with very clear instructions. It was simple to install and has been working perfectly for 2 months now. Will definitely order from dlplampsource.com again, if needed.

Our TV sat in storage for 2 years after the bulb blew. We ordered from 5 places and never got the right one until now!! My husband now has a TV in his man cave again and I am not stuck watching football every night of the week... ;)
